Regardless of industry, "business" seems to move faster than ever with high expectations and short time frames to get things done.
In owning and managing our portfolio of 2.5+ million square feet and with more than 400 customers, we've come up with a way to ensure that we're making the most of our time so we are able to respond to our customers' needs. We're not unique, we're sure that many companies employ similar techniques, but our method benefits our customers directly ... and it's another reason why our properties — and our company — is a "Right Space. Best Place." choice.
- We huddle - depending on size of the portfolio, our teams huddle once a week or more to ensure that we are meeting the expectations of our To-Do lists, and ultimately, our customer. Just as in football, we call it a huddle because that's exactly what it is. It's not a retreat or a seminar ... it's a time to make sure we're all on the same page to the benefit of our customers.
- We're a flat organization - There are only two layers of management above our Property Teams: Vice Presidents of Operations and Finance and then our CEO/Owner. We like being flat! It allows us to make quick decisions that affect our company and customers.
- Our teams do it all - In other words, they know leasing, operations and accounting. We have some very specialized talent at Cranbrook, but for the most part, our Property Teams are generalists ... that's a benefit to our customers because they can solve problems, create solutions and offer knowledge that helps our customers remain focused on their business.
