  • We’re Flat and Fast … Besides our property teams that oversee the day-to-day management of our properties, there are only two decision-making levels above them: two C-level positions (COO and CFO) and the CEO, Jim Devenport. This allows us to respond more quickly to both leasing inquiries and operational issues.
  • We’re Focused on Our Customers … We get it. We exist because we have customers who need to lease quality space. They are important and we know it. We strive to make good on the expectations our customer have of us.
  • We’re Flexible … Our property management teams are tasked with handling both the leasing and operational components. We think this is a benefit in that our customers deal with less people through the process. In many cases, the people who negotiate the lease are the same people who will provide day-to-day management of the space and the relationship.

Our founders, Richard Kulka and Jim Devenport have made a lot of property decisions throughout their careers. However, none are as lasting or have as significant an impact as where the properties are located. Part of the Cranbrook philosophy was to own properties in strategic locations near major interstates and/or freeways.

If you pull out a map of the East Bay or Central Valley, you'll find most Cranbrook Group, Inc. properties visible from Interstates 580/680, 880, Highway 92 in the East Bay, and Highways 99,120 and Interstate 80 in the Central Valley.
